The Firm

A boutique built for cross-border capital.

Vanrad Capital was founded on a simple observation: the capital, the infrastructure and the technology shaping the next decade do not respect the boundaries of a single market. Energy, connectivity and intelligence are being rebuilt simultaneously in the Gulf and in the United States — and the institutions that finance them rarely speak both languages with native fluency.

We are a small firm by design. Mandates are led personally by the founding partners, both of whom continue to operate as chief financial officers of significant enterprises. That dual perspective — advisor and operator, US and MENA, public and private — is the firm's defining advantage.

Our Approach

Senior attention. Always.

Four principles that govern every mandate we accept — and the ones we decline.

Principal-led mandates

Every engagement is led personally by a founding partner from origination through close. No layered teams, no outsourced execution, no learning on the client's mandate.

Operator's perspective

Active CFO experience inside US public companies and Middle East infrastructure groups means our advice is informed by accountability for delivery, not detached from it.

Cross-border fluency

Native fluency in US capital markets, Gulf institutional capital and the regulatory texture connecting the two. We translate between Houston, Wall Street, Dubai and Riyadh.

Discretion by default

Mandates are conducted under strict confidentiality. We do not publicise active transactions and we work with a small number of clients at any one time.

How We Engage

A disciplined process, end to end.

I

Origination & dialogue

Confidential discussions with principals, shareholders or boards to define objectives, constraints and the realistic universe of outcomes.

II

Structuring & preparation

Valuation work, capital structure design, marketing materials and counterparty mapping — built around the specific strategic logic of the mandate.

III

Execution

Direct outreach to a curated counterparty list. Negotiation, diligence management and documentation led by the founding partners.

IV

Close & continuity

Signing, regulatory clearance and post-close integration support. Long-term relationships, not transactional handoffs.

Perspectives

What we are watching.

Selected themes shaping our current dialogue with principals, boards and institutional capital.

Energy Transition

Why Gulf capital is repricing the energy stack

Sovereign and strategic investors in the GCC are no longer choosing between hydrocarbons and the transition — they are funding both, in parallel, on patient horizons that Western capital structures rarely accommodate.

Firm note · 2026
Digital Infrastructure

Fiber, towers and the new MENA backbone

The build-out of connectivity infrastructure across the region is creating institutional-grade assets at a scale and yield profile that US infrastructure funds are only beginning to underwrite.

Firm note · 2026
Applied AI

Where compute meets cheap power

The economics of AI workloads are reshaping the geography of data-center investment. The Gulf's power cost structure and sovereign appetite make it a credible counterpart to North American hyperscale demand.

Geography

Built between two regions that increasingly need each other.
